Newton Christian Church

Welcome.  We understand that you would like to know about worship opportunites in Newton, Illinois.  Prehaps you have a church home, perhaps you are seeking one.  Newton Christian Church is housed in a stained glassed sanctuary and composed of families from many doctrinal heritages.  Our church is independent of denomination associations and average about a hunderd folks on any given Sunday.  Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month and during other religious holidays. Our pastor, Brad Harper, has been with us since 1991.  He is a graduate of Asbury College, Wilmore, Ky.  With many, many families consisting of parents with children, There is a children's program especially targeted toward the kids K-6. The Awana Program is in its ninth year.

      Our lot in life  may be strained or pretty satisfactory.  But God has created us with more than a mortal body that maneuvers around this planet.  On earth it is all about seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling and tasting. Yeah, It's mostly about us.

      But we believe there is more to it than that. Man is created with a body, mind and soul.  

      Because the nourishment of the body sustains man's life, we feel that the nourishment of the soul is necessary to prepare us to pass through death into eternity. 

     The Bible says "if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

     Yeah, It's all about Him. Only Jesus saves.  The church service is where we learn that, bolster our faith in that, and honor Him because of that.
